The empire was established by Henry II, as King of England, Duke of Normandy, Count of Anjou (from which the Angevins derive their name), as well as Duke of Aquitaine by right of his wife, and multiple subsidiary titles. The Angevins of the House of Plantagenet ruled over an area covering roughly half of France, all of England, and parts of Ireland and Wales, and had further influence over much of the remaining British Isles.

The Angevin Empire is an early example of a composite state. This advice really works, and I imagine if the capital is a church, you do the same but replace with an existing bishop. The Angevin Empire ( / ˈ æ n dʒ ɪ v ɪ n/ French: Empire Plantagenêt) describes the possessions of the Angevin kings of England who held lands in England and France during the 12th and 13th centuries. I gave it to the mayor with the highest opinion and stewardship, and the Wrong Holder Type popup disappeared. After killing the second girl, I became lord of Amalfi and after that, all that was left to do was to give the city to one of my mayors.

After killing the first, the second girl had me has the heir. I was fortunate to have a little young girl with just one younger sister as the baron. The advice I got was I needed to either revoke the title and incur major tyranny/diplomatic penalties OR (and this is the better way IMO) you can kill the current baron and all that baron's heirs. There is a castle in Amalfi with a baron. If the capital is a city, as a lord you need it to be a castle. I was clueless, found this thread, no help, then found some advice on a Steam forum which after I tested, I thought was really golden and worth sharing here.īTW the right clicking method came up with blanked out option where you'd normally create a vassal, it said "Can only create barons in owned, minor baronies". When I took over Amalfi I got a popup saying Wrong Type of Holder in Desmesne. Taranto is a normal county but Amalfi has a city as its capital. As Salerno you have 2 ducal claims over your neighbours, Amalfi and Taranto. I discovered something today playing as the Duke of Salerno (starting 867, all dlc loaded).
